Ice Cream Dreams: Keeping Your Mind Open to Multiple Hu$tles

I had a dream that I’d purchased an ice cream truck. Like most dreams, particularly the ones without anything too far-fetched, it seemed real enough. When I awoke, I began wondering how much a truck would cost to purchase, maintain, supply, and what the return on investment (ROI) would be. I’ve never considered such a thing for business but there I was, imagining driving it through neighborhoods in the summer, kids running behind like I was handing out free bars of gold or something.

Professionally, I am many things. Security consultant ranks high on my list but, more than anything, I am an author. Though it took years and a dare before I finally self-published my first novel, many of the stories have been included as parts of anthologies, and I always keep a backlog of literary projects in various stages of production.

Why do I mention that? Because I never get–more accurately, I don’t allow myself to get writers’ block. I have assumed a role in which my mind is fertile and constantly open to ideas that can be readily spun into tales. If I see people interacting, catch a glimpse of something on TV, or have an interesting conversation, it can inspire a story. I even dream out scenarios in vivid detail.

I am becoming the same way when it comes to generating streams of income (rereading this, I just realized I used the word “come” and its derivatives three times; I’m going to leave it just because it’s quirky). Because I am continually looking over and into possible ventures, my brain has gone into a mode that leaves my subconscious mind wide open.

The mind is like a muscle. It builds and grows from what it is fed. If you feed it a constant diet of negativity and prideful ignorance, you are bound to come off like a narrow-minded dumb-ass. However, if you feed it positive vibes and exercise it with new material, it will yield some amazing results. And, considering that you are what you think, it will eventually rule how you move, process, speak, etc.

I don’t have much time for running an ice cream truck business at present. However, maybe it will make for a possible venture at some other point in my life. Hell, maybe I’ll be able to inspire someone else to embark upon that stream of income. Stranger things have happened, you know!

Want to set up your brain so that it tunes in to the multiple income stream frequency? Consider the following:

1. I would __________, whether I was paid for it or not. (Note: This is your passion!)

2. I can embark on several side hu$tles that can support the pursuit of my passion.

3. What am I great at doing? How can I turn that into an income stream?

4. Is there information/websites/an existing system out there for a me make money from doing those thing(s)?

5. Are there groups of people or individuals who are also doing similar things that I can either join or observe?

6. What am I feeding my mind?
